Basic Principle and Pattern of Public Archaeology in China

公众考古学即走向公众领域的考古学,它旨在让更多的公众了解到考古学的价值和意义,实现文化遗产保护与社会发展的双赢。在中国建构公众考古学应以对文化遗产的传承为伦理基础,以保护现有的考古资源和文化遗产为现实考虑,以公众对文化遗产知识的掌握为人文基础,将参观考古现场、出版科普图书、大众传媒的参与等多种模式相结合。

The public archaeology aims to let more people know the value and significance of archaeology and achieve a win-win situation of the protection of cultural heritage and the development of society. This paper considers that public archaeology should be based on the ethics of inheritance of cultural heritage in order to protect the existing archaeological resources and cultural heritage. It also regards the public grasp of the cultural heritage knowledge as the foundation of humanism, combined with many activity patterns such as the visit of archaeological sites, reading of popular science books, and the participation of the mass media.
