The key purpose of foreign language teaching is to achieve cross-cultural communication successfully, so it is of great significance to effectively cultivate the communication ability of language learners. This essay starts with analysis of the relation between cross-cultural communication ability and foreign language teaching, and focuses mainly on how to avoid the possible prag- matic errors in the course of language learning so as to conduct cross-cultural communication successfully.
