The Stilwell Road was built at the toughest time during anti - Japanese war. The nature conditions were very hard and the precipitation along Sfilwell road was enormous. Culverts were very important to keep Stilwen road unblock. The demand for culverts in Stilwell Road is analyzed. Wooden culvert, gasoline can culvert, stone arch culvert, corrugated iron arch culvert, and corrugated pipe culvert used in the Stilwen Road are introduced. From the culverts used in Stilweil Road, contemporary inspira- tion for nowadays＇ road construction is summarized.
