摘要
对于明末清初耶稣会士对四书五经的译介活动,过去认为是在分散和无序状态下进行的,同时代人之间很少彼此通气,不同时代的人之间也少有承袭关系。对这一译介活动及译作的全面梳理表明:译者内部存在种种联系并在各自翻译选择中透射出明确的翻译需要意识;礼仪之争这一历史背景作为儒籍翻译的起因和催化剂,其作用不容忽视;这次中学西渐的前因后果将有利于当下的中学传播。
Translation of Confucian classics by the Jesuits during the transitional period of Ming and Qing dynasties used to be considered as random and disordered activities without much exchange among peers or inheritance by followers. Investigation of such translations shows that various links do exist among translators who had explicit awareness of translation needs under the decisive historical background of Chinese rites controversy.To explore causes and effects of such a history will illuminate current issues related to the spread of Chinese culture.
