Summary Meniere＇s disease （MD） is an idiopathic inner ear disorder characterized by an obligatory triad of symptoms, including episodic rotatory vertigo, fluctuating hearing loss and tinnitus, often accompanied by aural fullness. Its pathogenesis has not yet been clearly clarified. Also, the disease＇s variable clinical course, which cau ses severe functional and emotional disability, makes it difficult to assess and investigate different therapies. Treatment for MD focuses on management of the vertiginous spells and hearing deterioration. Common treatments include medical and surgical therapies. Recent researches have shown that changes in the middle ear can effectively control the vertiginous spells of MD, then local overpressure treatment by Meniett device for MD has been gradu- ally accepted. We reviewed the clinical efficacy of Meniett device on MD in regarding to vertiginous control, hear- ing improvement, tinnitus as well as aural, respectively.
