objective To understand the blood lead levels of children aged 0-9 years in Pucheng County during 2010-2012, and provides the basis for the prevention of childhood lead poisoning. Methods Using BH2100 atomic absorption spectrom- eter to analyse the peripheral blood lead in 7 000 cases of children in the hospital for recent three years. The obtained data were analyzed statistically according to the 2010,2011,2012 and 0 - 2 years, 3- 5 years, 6 - 9 years old and children~ s gen- der, the average amount of lead poisoning, poisoning rate, and detection rate. Results In the children, the average lead con- tent and poisoning rate were 0. 362±0. 066 μmol/L and 11.5% for 2010,0. 382±0. 075μmol/L and 13.1% for 2011,0. 396 ±0. 066 μmol/L and 16.1% for 2012 by year, and according to the age,0. 328±0. 065 μmol/L and 12.3% for 0-2 years old,0. 391±0. 074 μmol/L and 13.2% for 3-5 years,0. 420±0. 069 μmol/L and 14.9% for 6-9 years old. The total level of lead and -poisoning rate were 0. 382±0. 069 μmol/L and 13.5%. The boy of 941 cases of 941 poisoning children was 649 for 13.8% of the boys, and 292 girls for 12. 7 %. Women and children lead poisoning rate were not significant (x2=1.75, P 〉0.05). Conclusion The children's blood lead level and blood lead poisoning rate with age, year of increasing rate did not differ between men and women. Lead poisoning in children should be paid more attention.
