摘要
本文以北京语言大学汉语进修学院131名"零起点"留学生为样本,以留学生动机问卷为调查工具,重点讨论初级阶段来华留学生学习动机及其对学习成绩的影响。统计数据表明:(1)初级阶段来华留学生的学习动机非常强;(2)他们非常重视外部的学习环境(教师、教材和教法);(3)留学生对于个人价值的实现和工具需要的要求最为突出,因为人际交往需要和他人要求而产生的学习动机最弱;(4)成绩较好学生的学习动力源于语言学习本身,而成绩较差学生多是因为外界影响而学习;(5)成绩较好学生不太在意别人的评价,而成绩较差学生对于他人的评价比较关注。
Based on an investigation of 131 students in the College of Advanced Chinese Training of BLCU, this paper looks at the learning motivation of elementary - level foreign learners of Chinese in Chi- na and its effects on term examination results. The main findings are as follows:(i) These students have very strong learning motivation; (ii) They pay great attention to the learning environment, including teachers, textbooks and teaching methodologies; (iii) Among these different learning motivations, the re- quirement of self - achievement and the need of instruments are most appreciated, whereas the motivation caused by the need of making friends and the requirement from others are least appreciated; (iv) The students who got better test results are found to be more interested in the Chinese language itself, as com- pared to those who performed poorly in the tests, i. e. , they reported that they learn Chinese because their parents, companies, schools, or their countries wanted them to; (v) The students who got better test results care less about other people' s evaluation, as contrasted with those poorly performing students whoare easily affected by other people' s evaluation.
