摘要
台湾信息产业系统芯片厂商正面临国际间其它竞争者的威胁。系统芯片厂商如何获取知识以维持竞争优势已成为业者普遍关注的焦点。根据资源基础与知识管理两大理论,以台湾系统芯片厂商威盛与矽统为研究对象,探讨系统芯片厂商的知识获得策略。研究结果发现,厂商所需知识的特定性愈高,宜采取内部研发或外部高度承诺模式。厂商的资源能力不如国际大厂且依赖产业领导者的资源,最好采取外部的中高度承诺模式。威盛的资源能力较佳,在知识取得策略方面,较倾向于高度承诺的购并或合资模式。矽统的资源能力较弱,较偏好中高度承诺的技术移转模式,但为了快速取得外部的必要资源,矽统也会采取高度承诺的购并模式。
The system chip manufacturers of Taiwan Information Technology Industry is threatened by internaional competitors.How can they acquire knowledge so as to maintain the competitive advantage has become the major concern of the industry.With the theories of resource base and knowledge management,this research studies Via and SIS,two system chip manufacturers and discusses the industry 's knowledge acquisition strategy.As an exploratory research,it uses secondary data analysis in order to understand Taiwan system chip manufacturers.It discovers that themanufacturers who need more specific knowledge had better use internal research and development mode or high external commitment mode;and those less strong than internional manufacturers and reliant on industry leaders in resource had better use external medium or high commitment mode.With a better resource capacity,Via prefers the high-commitment merger or joint venture model,while SIS,with a weaker resource capacity,prefers the technology transfer modes of medium or high commitment,although it also uses the merger model of high commitment in order to acquire necessary external resource speedily.
