Karyotype analysis of two varieties of Lens culinaris Medic has been studied by means of preparing mitotic chromosome specimen and Giemsa staining technique.The results obtained showed that they have the same formula of 2n=2x=16=6m+6sm+2st+2st(SAT). They all have “3B” karyotype. They have the same chromosome relative length coefficient of 2n=2x=16=4L+6M 2+6M 1+4S. The obvious difference on arm ratio of the seventh chromosome and length of the second chromosome has been gained between the two varieties of Lens culinaris Medic.
