桐城派范当世散文艺术探析

An Analysis on the Prose Artistry of Tongcheng School Writer Fan Dangshi

南通范当世,文名被其诗名所掩,本文探讨其散文渊源、理论和艺术风格。范氏遥继桐城古文,私淑曾国藩,师张裕钊,友吴汝纶,主张在继承桐城古文的基础上风格多变,其散文具有"简奥苍坚"、"辞气昌盛"和"诙诡、奇崛"的特征。

Fan Dangshi was a writer of Nantong whose achievement in prose creation has been shaded by his fame as a well - known poet. This paper discusses the origin, theory and artistry of his proses. Fan＇ s prose follows the tradition of Tong Cheng School, he privately takes Zeng Guofan as his model, with Zhang Yuzhao as his teacher, and Wu Rulun his good friend. While following the basic of Tong Cheng tradition he also advocate some change in style. His proses have the feature of brief and solid, vigorous in language and emotion, as well as irony and peculiar.
