A Bird's Eye View of Xilingol Grassland: on Grassland Construction,Protection and Utilization

长期以来,锡林郭勒草原受自然环境及人为因素的影响,形成了草原退化、沙化、沙漠化严重,草地植被受到破坏,草地生产力下降,草地利用性能降低,土壤受到侵蚀,土质变粗沙化,土壤有机质含量下降,水土流失严重加剧,鼠、虫害和毒草繁衍发生,受害面积不断扩大,引起草地生态环境恶化,严重制约了畜牧业经济的发展。研究锡林郭勒盟草原退化、沙化草地现状和建设措施,对于牧区生态系统的恢复和重建具有重要意义。笔者从阐述锡林郭勒盟草原退化、沙化、沙漠化草地入手,针对性地提出了5项建设措施。

Due to natural and human reasons, for a long time, the Xilingol Grassland has been experi- encing a serious degradation, desertification and desertization in particular. Grassland vegetation is dam- aged and grassland productivity is becoming poorer and poorer because of the declining utilizing rate. The soil is eroded, becoming sandy and losing its organics. Erosion is getting severe. Rats, pests and poison- ous weeds are hitting larger and larger areas. All of these are worsening the condition of grassland ecology and hindering stock farming. So, for the.revival of pasturing ecology, it is essentially important to study the current state of grassland degradation, desertification and construction strategies in Xilingol. This es- say starts from Xilingol grassland degradation and desertification and proposes five construction strategies.
