The guildhalls of Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty with its development in Chongqing are introduced. The role and position of the public architecture like guildhall are discussed by presenting the history of Nanhua Hall. Based on plenty of on-site survey and mapping, strategy for historic building are discussed from the aspect of historic building protection and renovation. Meanwhile, the comprehensive value of current historic building is assessed to ensure the scientific, reasonable and real renovation of historic building.
