Analysis of Huang Yong's Patriotic Poetry

黄咏雩抗战时期词具有丰富的时代内涵与较高的艺术性。其词以日本占领香港为界,可分两期:前期主要抒发对日寇肆虐的愤慨,以及自己的怀才不遇;后期侧重表现战争的残酷和广东人民的真实心态。词风悲凉,其原因除时代特征外,还与作者意象选用、声响与色彩的渲染以及典故的使用有关。

Huang Yongyu＇s Poetry composed during the Anti -Japanese War Period reflected the situation of that era in a vivid and artistic way. His poems may be divided into two parts according to the intrusion and occupa- tion of Hong Kong by the Japanese invaders. The first part expressed his indignation with the Japanese invaders and the ignorance of his capability. The other part indicated the cruelty of the war and the real mentality of Guangdong people. The sorrowful tone of his writing is not only based on the characteristics of the times but also triggered by the writing skills with images, sound, colors, and literary quaotations.
