The exploration and practice on environmental issues launched early in China at century and the beginning of 20th century. As a leader and founder of this cause, Zhang the end of 19th Jian was at the forefront of the nation. He made a lot of explorations and put them into practice,which have achieved remarkable results. Zhang Jian＇s forward-looking ideas and practice not only laid a foundation for China＇s early environmental undertakings and urban modernization,but also left behind a large sum of valuable spiritual wealth. Those thoughts and practice still have a certain historical reference value and enlightenment function in solving prominent economic and environmental problems nowadays.
