On Translation of Object Names Based on Semantic Triangle Theory

从语义三角理论出发,通过对翻译过程中译者的具体思维过程和译文读者的阅读过程的分析,指出物体名称翻译中的误区,并且从词汇的三个层次分析了不同文化背景中具体物体名称的翻译。指出在翻译过程中,译者需要站在译文读者的角度,排除由于文化差异引起的误解和不解,实现译文信息的转达。

Based on the semantic triangle theory, and through analyzing the process of translating and reading, this article presents the common misunderstandings of the translation of objects. The proper translation of the object names is then explored in terms of the three levels of lexicon. The author believes that translators should always keep the target readers in their minds,trying to eliminate the misunderstanding caused by cultural differences and convey the intended information in proper ways.
