Financial Development and Tourism Economic Growth

基于2001~2009年中国大陆30个省区的面板数据,综合采用混合回归（POLS）、固定效应（FE）、随机效应（RE）估计方法,对金融发展与旅游业成长关系进行经验检验。结果表明：（1）金融发展对旅游业成长有显著正向影响,稳健性分析也支持该结论;（2）经济外向程度、交通基础设施、旅游资源禀赋能显著驱动地区旅游业成长,三者在金融发展与旅游业成长关系中皆起正向调节作用;（3）分区域考察显示,金融发展对旅游业成长的影响呈现区域差异,其对东部的正向影响强度大于中部;（4）在西部,旅游业沿袭的是单一旅游资源驱动型成长模式,金融发展的驱动作用并不明显。

Based on 2001 - 2009 panel data of 30 provinces in China mainland, applies the methods of pooled ols （ POLS）, fixed effect （FE）, random effect（RE）, the relationship of financial development and tourism economic growth. Results show ment has a significant positive effect on tourism economic growth, and the robustness this paper comprehensively to make an emp.~rical test of that （ 1 ） Financial develop- analysis provides a strongly empirical support for this conclusion; （2） Extroverted economy, transportation infrastructure, tourism resources endowment are significantly driving strength of tourism economic growth, and each of the three has a oositive ad- justment function between financial development and tourism economic growth; （3） The investigation of the dif- ferent areas reveals that the influence of financial development on tourism economic growth prese＇ats regional differences, the positive influencing strength on East China is greater than that on Central China; and （4） To the West, the growth of tourism economy depends on a single growth model, which is resource - driving model ; mo- reover, the driving effect of financial development on the growth of western tourism economy is not obvious.
