本文通过实例介绍了秦皇岛港煤码头三期工程水工模型试验的必要性及在水工建筑物设计中所起的重要作用。

Through a case study in the 3rd phase project in Coal Terminals in Qin- huangdao Port,the author emphasized the necessities of hydraulic model tests and their important roles played in design of maritime structures.
