国际化背景下工科院校大学英语课程改革

College English Curriculum Reform in Engineering Colleges under the Background of Internationalization

在国际化背景下,外语的工具性特征日趋明显,社会对工程技术人才外语能力的需求越来越高。我国传统的大学英语教学"重基础,轻应用",忽视了工科学生的专业需求,不仅与国家致力于培养国际化工程技术人才的战略目标不相匹配,而且也导致大学英语课程在工科院校的边缘化。以高等教育国际化为契机,重新定位工科院校的大学英语教学目标,优化以学科内容为依托的课程设置,满足国际化专门人才的培养需求,是现阶段工科院校大学英语教学改革的当务之急。

Under the background of internationalization, the instrumental feature of English is becom- ing more and more obvious, which enhances the trend of using English as a working language for per- sonnel majoring in engineering and technology. The traditional English teaching in engineering colle- ges fails to meet the nation＇ s strategic goal of cultivating international engineering talents, needs to undergo reorientation in teaching target and offers multiple content-based courses for a sustainable development.
