Effect of total sleep deprivation on the EEG power spectra in healthy young men

摘要 目的 探讨全部睡眠剥夺对健康男性青年脑电功率谱的影响。方法 选身体健康男性青年 (19~ 2 2岁 )自愿受试者 2 0名 ,剥夺全部睡眠 5 0h ,定时记录脑电图共 8次 (间隔 6h) ,分析各脑区各频段脑电功率。结果 睡眠剥夺 5 0h后所有脑区 (双侧枕区除外 )的δ频段 (P <0 0 5~P <0 0 0 1)、θ频段 (P <0 0 1~P <0 0 0 1)功率升高 ,α2 频段功率降低 (P <0 0 0 1) ,并与睡眠剥夺时间呈线性相关 (P <0 0 1~P <0 0 0 1)。例如 ,F3区δ、θ和α2 频段脑电功率在睡眠剥夺前后分别为 3 78、4 17;3 6 5、4 34;4 6 4和 3 91ln(μV2 )。脑电功率出现显著变化的时间由早到晚依次为α2 频段、θ频段和δ频段。额前区、中央区、顶区和颞中区的改变较早 ,左半球比右半球早。脑电功率具有显著的随时刻变化现象。快波频段表现为脑电功率于 2 0 :0 0达到高峰 ,而后迅速下降 ,至次日凌晨 2 :0 0或早晨 8:0 0达到低谷。慢波δ、θ频段功率呈总体上升趋势。结论 睡眠剥夺可以影响正常人的脑电生理活动。δ、θ和α2 频段功率改变最显著。不同脑区的脑电功率改变有差异 ,以额前区、中央区、顶区和颞中区的改变最为显著 ,左半球较右半球显著。快波频段与慢波频段的时刻效应表现不同。 Objective To investigate the effect of total sleep deprivation (TSD) shown in the electroencephalogram (EEG) power spectra in healthy young men. Method 20 healthy young male volunteers (19~22 years old) were subjected to 50 hours of TSD. EEGs were recorded 8 times (6 hours intervals) during TSD. EEG power was calculated for six bands at all 16 derivations.Results 50 hour TSD induced an increase in δ power at the other derivations except both occipitals ( P <0.05~ P <0.001) and in θ power at all derivations ( P <0.01~ P <0.001), and a decrease in α 2 power at all derivations ( P <0.001). For example, the EEG power of δ, θ, α 2 bands at F3 derivation before and after TSD was 3.78, 4.17; 3.65, 4.34 and 4.64, 3.91 ln(μV 2) respectively. Significant linear correlations of EEG power with accumulating hours of TSD were observed for δ, θ, α 2 bands ( P < 0.01 ~ P < 0.001). α 2, θ and δ power changed significantly in turn by time. EEG power at the prefrontal, central, parietal and meditemporal derivations changed earlier than the other derivations, and EEG power in the left hemisphere changed earlier than the right side. There was a significant overall effect of time of day. EEG power of the fast wave frequency bands showed a peak at 2 000 hours, then declined rapidly, and reached a trough at 2 or 8 am the next day. While EEG power of the slow wave frequency bands exhibited a global increasing trend.Conclusion TSD may affect the electrophysiologic activity of the human brain. The power of the δ, θ and α 2 bands changed most significantly. EEG power at different derivations changed differently. The prefrontal, central, parietal and mediteporal cortexes and the left hemisphere changed more significantly than the other cortexes and the right side. The time of day effect of the fast wave frequency bands was different from the slow wave frequency bands’.
