Application of Domestication and Foreignization in Two Versions of Pride and Prejudice

文学翻译不同于其他翻译,不仅要忠实通顺,更要体现出文学语言的艺术性和创造性。归化与异化翻译策略的运用更是直接决定了这个目的的实现与否。《傲慢与偏见》是英国优秀文学的典型代表,以王科一先生与孙致礼先生的译本为蓝本,探究归化与异化策略在文学翻译中的具体运用,以期对翻译学者有所启示。

Different from other types of translation, literature translation has to be faithful, smooth, creative and of artistic value. In the process of literature translation, application of domestication and foreignization determines whether that purpose can be achieved. Pride and Prejudice is a typical representative of English literature. This article analyzes the application of domestication and foreignization in literature translation by taking two versions translated by Wang Keyi and Sun Zhili as examples, in the hope of bringing some light on translators.
