“修身”传统在中国文化精神中的本体意义——读余英时先生中国思想史笔记

On the Significance of Noumenon of the Tradition of ＂Cultivating Oneself＂ in the Chinese Cultural Spirit --Reading Yu Shi - ying＇ s The Notes on the History of the Chinese Ideology

本文以学习余英时先生中国思想史著作笔记的方式，梳理了以“修身”为核心的中国知识分子的使命里程。“中国知识分子的入世而重精神修养是中国文化的一个极显著的特色”，修身不仅成为弘道济世的前提，也成为知识分子个人的行为方式及对权势和财富的基本态度，尽管世事几经变迁，但修身的文化传统仍然引领着中国社会的精神方向。

The paper organizes the historical mission of the Chinese intellectuals with ＂cultivating oneself＂ as the core through the way of reading Yu Shi - ying＇ s The Notes on the History of the Chinese Ideology. Stress- ing on cultivating personal moral character when the Chinese intellectuals enter the society is a remarkable fea- ture of the Chinese culture. ＂Cultivating oneself＂ is not only the premise for the Chinese intellectuals to carry forward virtue and do good to society, but also the behavior and manner and basic attitude of the intellectuals to- wards power and wealth. In spite of the changes of dynasties, the cultural tradition of ＂cultivating one＇ s moral character＂ still guides the orientation of the progress of culture and ideology of the Chinese Society.
