In November 2013, television stations across China broadcast the video of a girl beating an 18-month-old baby in an elevator in southwestern China＇s Chongqing Municipality. A month later, a first- year university student, in Yunnan Province, reportedly gave birth and then abandoned the baby in a toilet in her dormitory. The student returned to classes the next day.
