荀子“法后王”说辨析

On Xunzi's view of “Following the Later King”

荀子所说的"后王"是理想之王,而非单纯的时间性概念。因此,"法后王"也不能简单地等同于历史进化论,荀子所说的"法后王"并不排斥"法先王",其本质是"尊先王而法后王"。

The Later King in Xunzi＇s view is a conception of ideal, not Later King＂ does not simply mean the theory of historical evolution. does not exclude the view of ＂Following the Former King＂. Its essence a single conception of time. So ＂Following Xunzi＇s view of ＂Following the Later King＂ is to respect the Former King and then fol-low the Later King.
