Abstract：, the Biography of LU Ling＇ by ZHU Hengqing did textual research into the character and story prototypes in Lu＇ s novels with full and acturate materials. The biography pointed out that the courtyard of Jiang in ＇ The Rich Man＇ s Sons And Daughters＇ was Lu ＇ s birthplace - Jiang Family in Suzhou, that the prototype of LU Mingdong in the novel was Lu himself, and that other characters such as Jiang Jiesan, Jiang Shuhua, Fu Pusheng and so on all have life prototypes. It also indicated that the story in ＇ The Valley＇ was actually a love affair between Lu and LI Luling in Yucai Middle School in Hechuan County at the beginning of 1940, and that ＇ The Lark＇ was based on Zhang Rui - the wife of Lu＇ s best friend Along, reflecting the character tragedy of intellectuals. The value of textual research in Zhu ＇ s ＇ The Biography of LU Ling＇ was to prove that Lu ＇ s novels was autobiographical, and meanwhile footnoted ＇ literature originates from life and above life＇.
