摘要
经典是人类文化精华的凝练与提升，不同国家和地域的文化造就了不同地域和国家的经典：不同民族的文化形成不同民族的经典；不同时代的文化产生不同时代的经典。图书馆作为收藏人类文化的宝库，有理由、有必要、更有责任在全民族的经典阅读中发挥作用。本文从经典的定义，中外当代阅读的现状与问题，经典阅读的重要性，经典阅读活动的启示等方面论述了经典阅读在图书馆。参考文献5。
Classics are the conciseness and promotion of human culture essence and embody profoundly the era, national, ethnic and regional characteristics. Libraries as the treasure house of human culture have more necessity and responsibility to play a role in the whole nation＇s classic reading. This paper makes an elaboration on classic reading in library from the aspects of the classic definition, the status quo and problems of contemporary classic reading at home and abroad, the importance of classic reading and the enlightenment of classic reading activities. 5 Refs.
