人口是社会组成和一切社会活动的主体。论文以20世纪80年代以来全国人口普查资料为依据,以晋中市域人口的发展为研究主线,对2000年以来晋中市域人口发展趋势进行梳理和分析,总结其发展特征和结构特征的变化,分析发展原因,为科学制定晋中市未来人口、经济和社会发展规划和政策提供决策依据。

The population is the main part of a society and the main body of social activities. According to the study of the population development in Jinzhong city and the data of the national survey on population since 1980＇s, the essay combs the development trend of Jinzhong population, summarizes the changes in development and construction features and ana- lyzes the reasons with the aim to provide decision basis for the scientific foundation of the future development planning and policies in population, economy and society in Jinzhong City.
