描述了毛竹的1个新变型——麻衣竹。其秆箨无箨耳与鞘口繸毛,秆纤细曲折,梢部弯曲呈下垂状而有别于毛竹。
Phyllostachys edulis （Cart.） H. de Lehaie f. exaurita T. G. Chert is a new from. It is different from other forms for this form has no auriculate sheaths and no setae at the mouth and its culm is flexuous and slender with curved and pendulous top.
