Undercurrent under Swelling Tide: Anti-Enlightenment through German Nationalism

德意志民族主义有着浓厚的反启蒙色彩,并贯穿于民族主义产生发展的始终。德意志启蒙思想与民族主义难以结合,成为自由和民主思想的敌人。德意志民族主义的这种特征给德意志民族造成极大危害,使德意志民主主义发展十分滞后,专制主义专横跋扈,民族主义最终被保守主义所裹挟,导致德意志专制主义和封建主义盛行,最终导致德意志民族主义的蜕变和独裁政治的出现。

German nationalism had a strong anti-Enlightenment color, which can be found in the birth and development of na- tionalism. It was difficult to for enlightenment to combine with nationalism, which became the enemy of freedom and democratic ide- as. This feature of German nationalism caused a great harm to the German nation and the development of democracy so that national- ism eventually was coerced by conservatism, German absolutism and feudalism prevailed, and eventually resulted in the German na- tionalism＇ transformation and the emergence of dictatorship.
