摘要
本文将媒介中的都市看作是为不可解决的都市矛盾而发明的、想象性的"解决方案"。通过比较分析魏玛共和时期的三个视觉媒介中的文本,着力聚焦在现代大都市诞生之初的都市乌托邦与反面乌托邦想象,阐述这些想象如何作为某种征兆向我们预示发生在都市建造与都市话语之间、民主行动与媒体神话之间、日常生活实践与资本景观装置之间的一场旷日持久的拉锯战,以及拉锯战所催生的各种关于现代大都会的乌托邦想象如何始终围绕着两个既相互刺激又相互损耗的问题:大都会在固有的矛盾与差异之上如何达到更高的完整性?现代大都会如何为自己找到指向终极统一的结晶形象?
This article regards the city in media as an imaginary "solution" for urban problems which cannot be resolved realistically. Through the comparative analysis of three visual texts in the Weimar Re- public period, the article focuses on the imagination of urban utopia and dystopia at the birth of a modem metropolis, discusses how these imaginations, as a certain kind of symptoms, indicate a time - consuming seesaw battle that happen between urban construction and discourse, democratic movements and media myths, daily life practices and spectacle mechanism. It further points out how various kinds of utopian imaginations about modem metropolises, as products of the tug of war, always focus on two mutually stim- dating and tearing issues: how can the metropolis achieve a higher integrity above the inherent contradic- tions and differences? How the modern metropolis finds a crystalline image for itself that points to the uhi-mate unification?
