Although respected for textual authentication,the famous scholar of Qian-jia School(which existed during the reigns of emperors Qian-long and Jia-qing) Dai Zhen's nature belonged to Tao(道)and he devoted himself in establishing Confucianism orthodox in his later years.In terms of studying Confucianism,Dai's academic thought had experienced three stages.In the early stage,he learned 'Six Classics'(六经)and believed that theory and research are equally important to begin learning Confucianism,so he stand by the side of neoConfucianism in Song dynasty and its representative Zhu Xi.In the nest stage,Dai spent much time on pondering the theory,so he deprived from the neo-Confucianism and turned to study textual research.At the end of his life,he broke through with neo-Confucianism publicly which hold the ideology of killing people by reasoning and finally gave the answer that Tao is consisting of natural law and humanity.Without the bondage from Confucianism,Dai Zhen could express his thought more freely.
