How to use picture books to develop children＇s language ability is an important challenge facing picture books teaching practice in kindergarten. Using 11 Kittens Drudge as an example, the authors elaborate the use of subtraction strategy in supporting children to carry out the story performance practice, including （1） reducing the difficulty level of the circumstances to help children gain experience in understanding the story ~ame completely, （2） reducing the difficulty level of performing to help children gain experience in positive expression, （3） reducing the difficulty level of language to help children gain experience in text comprehension, and （4） reducing the difficulty level of the topics to help children gain experience in theme understanding.
