On Coordinated Development of Tianjin Regional Economy and Vocational Education

区域经济的发展为职业教育提出了需求和不断扩大的市场

As an indispensible type of education, vocational education undertakes significant responsibilities and tasks. To some extent, the development of Tianjin regional economy will push forward the development of Tianjin vocational education, and vice versa. The former makes demands on and provides an increasingly larger market for the latter, and the latter supplies continual workforce and technology support for the former. The two are mutually reinforcing and can bring about the best in each other. Tianjin, as the leading area in economy nationwide and as the center of politics, economy, culture and international exchange in north China, is in urgent need of a groups of medium and higher vocational schools and colleges well-matched with its economy and position of an international metropolis. Simultaneously, it is also the demand of the people to be accessed to vocational education in higher vocational colleges. In addition l higher vocational colleges with higher education quality and academic level can offer fundamental support in building a learning society and fostering the concept of life-long learning.
