1915—1924年新文化运动时期,是张申府哲学思想的形成期。张申府哲学思想与新文化运动有着双重的联系:一方面,随着新文化运动的深入开展,其思想经历了从倡导"科学"、"民主"到主张"社会主义"的转变;另一方面,他以"纯客观主义"倡导"科学",以"新教育"与"自由"倡导"民主",以"中国改造"倡导"社会主义",对新文化运动的展开产生了重要影响。
