从译者的适应性选择角度赏析《落花生》两个英译本

Translation as Translator's Adaptation and Selection ——A study on two translations of Peanuts.

《落花生》是我国著名作家许地山的散文精品,也是我国散文经典。关于这篇散文的译本有很多,最著名的是张培基的和刘士聪的译文。文章通过对中文小说《落花生》及其英译本的对比分析,尝试性的以胡庚申先生的翻译适应选择论为依据进行翻译批评和赏析。适应选择论依其基本原则可以被定义为"多维度适应与适应性选择",其所对应的翻译方法为"三维"转换,具体包括语言、文化和交际三个维度的适应性转换。

Peanuts composed by Xu Dishan, a very famous Chinese essayist, have been translated by many people in English. A- mong those translations, Zhang Peiji＇ s and Liu Shieong＇ s editions are the most popular ones. Based on the data of the modem Chinese prose Peanuts and its two English translations, the present thesis attempts to make a tentative study of two well - known translations of Peanuts within Hu＇ s theoretical framework of translation as adaptation and selection. The translation principle is briefly summarized as multi - dimensional adaptations and adaptive selection, while the translation methods as ＂three dimensional transformations＂ which includes linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions.
