New Exploration on Relationship Between Liu Bei and Guan Yu

刘备和关羽曾经是情同手足的兄弟,在刘备创业的早期,他们肝胆相照,休戚与共。然而,在以后的军事斗争和个人交往中,刘关之间的关系发生了变化,由原来的兄弟关系演变为相互不够信任的陌路人,其中的矛盾,值得探讨。一方面是关羽本人刚愎自用的性格问题,另一方面是刘备自己的政治构想,由于双方在逐渐的斗争环境中表现出了各自的价值观与利益追求,因而相互矛盾并渐行渐远。

Abstract： Liu Bei and Guan Yu had been fellowlike brothers. In Liu＇ s early pioneering stage, they treated each other with all sincerity and shared weal and woe. However, the relationship between them evolved from brotherly love to strangers with distrust in the following military struggles and interpersonal relationships. Those changes de- serve to be explored, especially their contradiction included. For one thing Guan Yu＇ s character was headstrong, for another Liu Bei had a different political conception from Guan Yu. Gradually, they showed respective values and pursuits of interest and then went far from each other in the contradiction.
