医疗卫生机构公示语的文本类型及其英译策略——以珠海市6所医疗卫生机构公示语为例

On Text Types and Translation of Public Signs in Hospitals

根据纽马克翻译理论,以珠海市6所医疗卫生机构实地采集到315条语料作为研究个案,发现医疗卫生机构存在不同文本类型的公示语的翻译策略使用错误现象,并对医疗卫生机构公示语的英译策略提出了修改意见:医疗卫生机构公示语英译应遵循纽马克文本类型理论,即表达功能型文本采用语义翻译法,信息功能型和祈使功能型文本应采用交际翻译法。

Based on an investigation of English translation of public signs in 6 hospitals in Zhuhai, it is found that translation strategies do not match with different text types of public signs according to Peter Newmark＇ s text type theory, and some suggestions are proposed.It is strongly recommended that, when translating public signs in hospitals, translators should decide the best translation strategies in accordance with text types. Semantic translation is used for expressive texts and communicative for informative and vocative texts.
