As one of the most important poets and critics of the 20th century in the history of British and American literature, T. S. Eliot had made greatest remarks on the Metaphysical Poetry of the 17th century. In his early poem ＂The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock＂ , Eliot revealed the loss, confusion and frustration of the modem western men by endowing rich implication to the metaphor and allusion images through the technique of metaphysical conceit.
