翻译某种意义上就是改写。而翻译改写作为一种重要的翻译现象,在多元文化翻译交际中起着十分重要的作用。改写理论不仅可以使人们更好地认识翻译的本质,而且可以更好地由此了解目的语的文化和社会。这里采用描述性翻译的研究方法,结合勒菲弗尔的改写理论分析《佐治刍言》之译文,探讨译者通过增补、删减、改写等翻译策略对原文所进行的改造。
