农业院校英语专业选修课现状与对策研究——以湖南农业大学为例

Current Situation of Optional Courses for English Majors in Agricultural Universities and Its Countermeasures——A case study of Hunan Agricultural University

通过问卷调查和走访的形式探讨了农业院校英语专业选修课程的设置与实践情况,提出了专业选修课程设置改革的具体对策:英语专业基础阶段增设专业选修课,做到能正确的引导学生,提高学生英语学习的主动性;高低年级阶段的专业选修课程要与基础阶段的相匹配,体现系统性和实用性的特征,适当增设实践环节的选修课;加大力度培养专业选修课程教师、扩张专业选修课程的对象、改善配套的硬件设施等等。

Taking Hunan Agricultural University for example, this paper probes into the curriculum of optional courses for English majors in agricultural universities and its implementation and based on the result a new model of optional course curriculum has been put forward as well as some suggestions such as adding some useful optional course in the first two years of college, systemizing the whole curriculum of optional courses and putting emphasis on training ESP teachers, expanding the range of students and perfecting the facilities to improve the effect of optional course teaching.
