水浒故事系列体现了我们民族的文化心态和明确的价值观念,这是水浒文化的实质内容。从狭义上说,水浒文化是以《水浒传》为核心,在水浒故事产生、成书和传播接受过程中形成的,与其相关的一切政治、伦理、宗教、军事、艺术、价值、习俗等精神现象的总和。从广义上看,水浒文化遗迹以及由水浒故事产生的各种物化形态,也属于水浒文化。由特定的社会历史条件决定了的水浒文化的特征具体表现为:忠义的政治伦理观念;崇尚勇武精神;相当的包容会通精神;梁山水浒文化遗迹具有不可更易性。

In narrow sense, Shuihu Culture is based on Shuihuzhuan as the core, is the sum total of spiritual phenomenon of all relevant politics, ethics, religion, military, art, value, customs, etc. , formed in the process of comimg into being of Shuihu story, appearing of the book and spreading and accepting of it. In broad sense, the Shuihu cultural relics as well as various materializing form produced by the Shuihu story, also be- longs to Shuihu Culture. Determined by the specific social and historical conditions of the Shuihu cultural characteristics embodied in ： loyalty of political ethics ; the spirit of advocating the brave ; quite tolerant spirit of digesting. Liangshan Shuihu cultural relics has an unchanging quality.
