Calvino's Political Identification and the Transformation in His Early and Later Periodization

卡尔维诺的早期创作关注意大利社会现实,中后期则专注于小说形式探索,前后期创作转型对卡尔维诺至关重要,使他由一位仅在意大利国内小有名气的作家一跃而成为后现代经典作家。促成这一转变的主要原因是他早年的政治经历,他是在对政治的"认同——疏离"中逐渐认清文学的本质及其与政治之关系的,这使他走出写作困境,找到适合自己的写作立场并最终确定了中后期创作方向。本文以卡尔维诺现实生活中的政治认同为经线,以文学文本中的身体变形意象为纬线,挖掘和呈现政治因素在其前后期转型中的关键作用。

Calvino's early works were primarily concerned with the Italian social reality,but his later works changed to focus on exploring the forms of fiction.This change was crucial for Calvino's career,for it turned him into a classical Postmodern writer from a writer of little fame in Italy.The main reason to which this change could be attributed was his early political experiences,where he gradually understood the nature of literature and the relationship between literature and politics during aperiod of identification and then alienation from politics,and established his position as a writer and his writing direction in the later period.This paper is aimed to illustrate how the political factor contributed to the transformation in his writing through a study of Calvino's change of his political identification in his actual life and the change of the body images in the novels.
