摘要
本研究使用真值判断任务和判断改错任务调查中国学习者理解和产出英语复数名词短语的主要特点,并分析其原因。研究发现,1)学习者能正确理解英语光杆复数名词短语类指义,但也过度接受其表定指;2)学习者难以正确理解英语有定复数名词短语定指义,其产出也呈现较大变异性。研究指出,中国学习者对英语复数名词短语的理解和产出受母语迁移影响,且这种影响并不局限于单一语言层面。学习者习得英语复数名词短语的特点是母语概念表征、音韵结构、形义匹配关系等因素共同作用的结果。
This paper uses Truth Value Judgment Task and Error Correction Task to explore into Chinese-speaking learners′ comprehension and production of English plurals.It mainly asks whether Chinese L2-English learners whose L1is article-less can acquire the target properties of the generic and definite references of the English plural noun phrases.The results show that 1)Chinese learners can understand the generic meaning of English bare plurals,but they tend to over-accept the definite meaning of bare plurals;2)they find it difficult to understand and produce English definite plurals.It is suggested that Chinese learners′ comprehension and production of English plural noun phrases are affected by L1transfer.To be specific,their acquisition processes feature a combined effect of factors such as their L1conceptual representation,phonological structure,formmeaning matching patterns,etc.
