摘要
新中国外语教学自1949年至今大致经历了三个阶段:第一阶段从1949年到1980年代中期,以培养语言技能为主;第二阶段从1980年代中期到2010年左右,着眼于培养复合型外语人才;第三阶段从2010年到今后若干年,是以培养多元化多层次外语人才为目标的新时期。外语界学者普遍认为应该适应国家和社会需要,既培养复合型外语人才,同时培养具有人文素养、高水平语言能力及创新精神的高端外语人才。为此需在课程设置和教材编写方面做相应改革。
China′ s foreign language teaching has gone through three stages.Stage 1dates from 1949to the mid-1980swith emphasis on the training of practical linguistic skills.Stage 2dates from the mid-1980still about 2010when the training of foreign language personnel of a composite nature was the main trend.Stage 3extends from about 2010till many years from now.This is a new period in which pluralistic programmes should be the goal.It is necessary for English departments of different universities to tailor their teaching programme to their current status and local and national needs so that high-level English majors can be trained.
