This paper analyzes current problems about distance education and the necessity of adopting standardized coursewares. We also compare some international standards on courseware. Then we discuss the AICC-based distance education management system TH-CMI. The standardized coursewares make the distance education management system and courseware independent each other. Therefore,the problem of repeated development of distance education management system as well as courseware can be solved and the diversified information in the distance education can be managed effectively.
