时间主题的泛化——论艾略特的《情歌》

艾略特的《阿尔弗雷德·普鲁弗洛克的情歌》有两个主题:爱情和时间。其时间主题一方面表现为现实时间的抽象化和普遍化,另一方面表现为心理时间的共时性;时间主题的特点消解了爱情主题的单纯性,并使之泛化从而成为对现代社会人生意义的拷问,这首诗便超越了传统诗歌的模式,成为现代主义文学的代表作之一。

Eliot＇s ＂The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock＂ presents two themes as love and time. The time assumes abstraction and generalization of real time as well as synchronic psychological time. The time feature in this poem has not only dispelled the simplicity of love, but generalized questions to modern life. This poem has overstepped the model of traditional poems and becomes one of the master works for modernist literature.
