T ransnational Education - which is the globalization of learning, where students move around internationally to study, or take online courses from other countries - is a strongly growing trend. Chinese Universities are starting to play a globalized game, with worldwide prominence for Chinese educational achievement, more expansion overseas, and accreditationin international partnerships. Distance Learning in China asked our correspondent Stephen Haggard to report for the International Perspectives column. Drawing on insights from UK, Germany and America he discusses how the rise and rise of learning patterns with planetary scale creates new opportunities and challenges for the distance learning community, both in China and elsewhere.
