秦代的“闾左”考辨

Textual Research of “Lvzuo” in Qin Dynasty

20世纪学界对"闾左"的解释有数十种之多,没有形成共识。主流认识认为闾左是居住在里左边的民众是错误的。秦代基层居民单位里的建制,平原地区的里从理论上可以划分为"里左"和"里右",而非平原地区的里则因俗而设,里的建筑结构没有全国统一的规制。"闾左"中的"左"字用的是引申义,"闾左"的正确解释是里中占绝大部分普通民众的统称。"闾左"和里中的少数富贵者"豪右"相对应。"里佐"不同于"闾左","里佐"是里典的助手。

In the twentieth Century, the interpretations of ＂Lvzuo＂ varied in academic circle. The dominating view that Lvzuo refers to the masses inhabiting in the left Li is false. Since the construction structure of Li is not uni- tary in the state, theoretically, in plain area it can be divided into two parts including ＂The left Li＂ and ＂The right Li＂, while in the non plain areas it is established in accordance with custom. The word ＂left＂ in the Proper Noun ＂Lvzuo＂ is used in its extended meaning. The correct interpretation of ＂Lvzuo＂ refers to the vast majority of ordinary people. The minority rich named ＂Haoyou＂ in Li corresponds with ＂Lvzuo＂. ＂Lizuo＂, different from ＂Lvzo＂, is the main administrative assistant of Lidian.
