普利策获奖小说《修补匠》中的现象学想象力分析

Tinkers is the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for fiction of 2010. It has beautiful language, accurate and delicate description and profound meanings. The story revolves around the protagonist~ reflection upon his whole life before his death, and includes all kinds of amazing fantasies and some memories in detail about his father and grandfather. The story tries to arrange fragmentary pieces in consciousness in some sequence through imagination to establish the meaning of life. This paper tries to understand the theme of the story from the theories on sense, imagination and time in phenomenology. It also explains the meaning of ＂repair＂ and ＂ time＂ in the story and their special function in guiding readers to deliberate on the ultimate values of life.
