The Conquest of Happiness, a masterpiece written by Bertrand Russell , a famous British philoso-pher, is considered as guide to happiness for human beings .Fu Lei, an outstanding translator in China , made this masterpiece shining even more brilliantly owing to his excellent translation .This paper analyzes Fu Lei ’ s version from the perspective of the translator ’ s subjectivity , mainly manifested in choosing the source text and recreating the translated text , which includes words and preface of the translator as well as explanatory notes and register of the translated text .
