The study on indigenous English teaching methodology and on localization of English teaching methodology is of great significance to build an English teaching methodology suited fer China＇s teaching and learning environment. Based on the three special characteristics, Zhang Sizhong Foreign Language Teaching Approach and Three-dimensional Foreign Language Teaching Approach belong to indigenous English teaching methodology. The two approaches have some individual and common viewpoints on teaching theory, teaching mode and teaching technique, which can provide model and guidance to the building of Chinese-style English teaching methodology system.
